Hi!
My name is Virginia and I am one of the members of this awesome team! I have worked in the field of child care since 2008! I started at KinderCare Learning Center where I primarily worked with infants. During this time, I was also working on my Bachelors Degree. This experience allowed me to begin to apply the information I learned in the classroom to real life situations as well as encourage my abilities to develop positive relationships with families (something they don't teach you in school). I moved on from KinderCare when the commute became too much but found myself at Maternity Care Coalition. Here I worked with the Early Head Start Program, specifically with young toddlers (12-24 months). I also did a stint in the infant room where they loved me soo much I was often encouraged to sub when the teacher was out! Where most shy away from the 'baby room', I love to go in and sing and play and encourage them to explore their environment! While working at Maternity Care Coalition I not only completed my Bachelors Degree program through Chestnut Hill College, I also had 2 children of my own. There is a lot one can learn from caring for others children, but having your own is whole new ball game! After having my second child, I had to resign to care for my own children and found myself working at a group day care where my children were able to attend. This was an amazing experience! I was able to work with infants, toddlers and preschool children all in the same environment! This helped me learn to differentiate lessons to be able to meet the needs of all of the children. But this did not last long as subsidy programs frown upon paying for parents to care for their own children. I moved on to work for Brightside Academy where a benefit was that my children could attend for FREE! Here I work for the Head Start Program. Here I was loved by my teaching team but experienced issues with management and transitioned to Porters Day Care which is by far my FAVORITE place to be. But again my children come first and I left to home school my children when they did not get picked for the charter school lottery. 3rd shift was the name of the game! And now here we are today! 1 more little one added to the crew and I finally found the right team to start bringing this dream to fruition!
So here I sit, at my 12-8, making it through this shift! Excited about this new adventure! Time to print these activities for my babies next week! TTYL
